Quote Revisions

Would like the system to track changes to quotes similar to PO's and routings, the best would be to generate a revision anytime a quote is modified then saved.

To resolve this issue we are currently using a field on the "CUSTOM" tab with-in thie Quotattion Entry module to post the revision numbers (01,02,03...) which then appears under the quotation number on printed documents. The Rev. # and reason for the Rev. is then manually typed into the Quotation Comments, which prints & travels with the document to the customer. (Ex.: * Rev. 01 - Additional price break added & lead time changed. User: time stamp)  If the revision is internal and not meant for the customer to view, a revision number is assigned, noted on the Quotation Comments as (* Rev. 01 - Internal Modification) & then further detailed in the same manner on the Quote Notes which does not appear on or travel with the printed document.

I second this motion.  Too often a customer changes parameters and we are lest either copying to a new quote or dissolving the original, which could have value.
