Currently, the only way to ascertain the balance on a given date is by taking the current balance and performing the math for all transactions from present back to the date in question. When performing checks of previous transactions, this get tedious and time consuming. If it showed the resulting balances for each line, it would be a very quick reference to see what the balance was on that date. This is most helpful for finding causes of issues regarding inventory. When getting an accurate count of an entire warehouse of goods, this is a frequent inevitability.
