When stopping a job and entering the quantities completed in Data Collection, it should be required to input a scrap or rework code if a quantity was entered into one of those two fields. The system should not allow to leave the codes field blank if a scrap or rework quantity was entered in.
I see in Data Collection > Transaction Setup, you can tweak whether certain fields are required or not for each Transaction ID. I believe my idea could be added to this menu to allow each company to have the option.
This overall idea would be extremely useful in helping drive efficient root cause analysis and corrective actions, study trends and implement comprehensive preventive actions, which all will help the organization reduce costs associated with scrap and rework.
To conclude, I see in System Admin > Preferences > User Defined Lists, Scrap/Rework Codes do not have a second column and/or extended description box like for instance the Standard Text listing. Having a description for the code, would allow the user to pick the right one every time when two or more codes seem applicable to the user.
