Convert payroll to support PTO

Federal law has driven most companies to use PTO (Paid Time Off) instead of separate sick and vacation time. JobBoss should offer an option to use PTO rather than sick and vacation.

    Admin response

Hi commentators, voters, and subscribers -

We are happy to announce our integration with Red Wing Software's CenterPoint Payroll! This new payroll platform supports PTO and a plethora of other leave times. Please contact your CSM for additional information or visit the JobBOSS blog.

I am guessing this still hasn't been addressed? When using the import function in CenterPoint Payroll, You still only have Regular, Sick, Holiday & Vacation that can be imported from JobBoss (Sick doesn't actually import either), The Payroll Admin still needs to manually change them in CenterPoint because they aren't an option in JobBoss to begin with. Everything has to be entered as Vacation. Talk about an opportunity for error and tracking corruption.

Does the Red Wing solution supersede a JobBoss solution or are we still going to get a PTO category in Job Boss?

I hope this is not a solution that JobBOSS is going to tack an additional fee on. Furthermore, it will have known bugs that JobBOSS will say we have to "work around" to do what they claim it should already be doing.

Does CenterPoint have it's own purchase and maintenance costs? If so, this would be a very disappointing "solution".

We don't use the payroll module, but custom attendance types (i.e. user code) would satisfy this request. PTO could be one of those codes.

We use data collection for clock times, then have to "massage" our bi-weekly payroll together because there are types (e.g. jury duty, bereavement, flex) that we can't enter in JB. It forces us to do this outside of the system, which takes hours every payroll.

JobBOSS and Quick Books do not communicate correctly regarding the tracking of PTO remaining and scheduled.
