Businesses do not want to buy material for jobs that are on hold. Makes it hard to plan and manually exclude. Have a been a few occasions now where we have bought material only to have the job changed and return what we have bought.
We had this same concern - we needed to be able to pull Material Planning reports for ACTIVE jobs only, excluding pending (jobs on forecasts with no firm purchase order associated) and hold (jobs that for one reason or another, are not authorized to proceed). To accomplish this in our shop, we customized the JobBOSS Report to include the Job Status and to filter to show only jobs with a status of Active.
Because in our shop, we've addressed this issue with a custom report, this isn't a change that I would "vote" on -- but possibly JobBOSS would consider adding-in this as a Material Planning report option - to be able to select Job Status also ?
I see there is at least one related idea "Add Job Status to Material Planning Report" . . . I believe that would be a better long-term solution to this, especially if the report gave us the option to "check off" what job status we would like to include when running it.
I attempted to attach the .rpt Crystal Report with the modifications so that JobBOSS staff can look at the coding as I've changed it, , but it blocks me from uploading that file type.
