Inactive Vendor = Operation Removed from Routing

When a vendor is inactivated, perhaps because they went out of business, the operation assigned to this vendor will stay on the completed or template jobs.

However, if we copy this job over to a new job or a quote, the operation disappears altogether, not just the vendor for that operation. For example, you would now see operations: 10/20/40/50. Only a sharp eye or an employee who knows the parts would recognize that operation 30 had disappeared altogether. We have already almost missed heat treating parts because the operation was just gone from the job.

This is probably a bug. Please fix it ASAP! The level of risk on this is extremely high! Thank you.

Please reconsider because that is easy to loose an operation because the vendor is inactive. We had jobs completely missing processes because the new person did not know what that meant and did not pay attention to it. Too easy to cause inaccurate routings.

Not sure if this is similar but when a vendor status is set to inactive all services provided by that vendors are not removed. Going into quote and adding a routing for the process still shows the inactive vendor and there is no warning. Have you had issue like that?

      Hi Laura,

Thank you for the idea. When performing a job copy, there is a warning provided by the system. If you are not receiving this warning, please call support so we can accurately log this as a bug and investigate further. Thanks!
